WELCOME TO THE WARRIORMOMZ WALK FOR SCI RECOVERY!

When I answered the phone, an aussie accent said “People keep telling me I need to meet you, because you’re a warrior mom like me,” and I was hooked – just like that. Kay Ledson has a way of pulling you in and getting what she wants, and we fall under her spell willingly, because her message is about our children, about making them well. It’s a message about mother lions fighting for their young, mothers so willing to sacrifice, wishing they could trade places with their children when the unimaginable happens. Warrior Momz. “Yes,” I said, “I am a warrior mom, too.”

Kay wants to walk across America to raise money to fund therapy programs for people with paralysis, and we will help her every step of the way, which is about 7,000,000 steps. We will walk together into Washington DC to deliver this message about ending therapy caps and making proven therapies more available to our children.

But it’s not only momz, of course. It’s warrior dads and warrior sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles. It’s warrior husbands and wives. Warrior friends and warrior children. This mission is for everyone who loves someone living with a spinal cord injury, everyone willing to fight to create change. We need all of you warriors out there. Please donate or volunteer, or do both. And tell everyone you meet we are looking for warriors to find and fund recovery through therapy programs across this great nation while we battle with legislators to get it right.
