7 million steps  – Blog 16  – My Day

My day usually commences at 4 am or 4.30 am I check emails, facebook, and write my blog then out of bed either 5 am or 5.30 am.

Prepare smoothies this takes about 20 minutes I make one for Kelly and mine is slightly different. Then eat breakfast usually eggs or oatmeal.

Get my backpack ready with water and drinks with electrolytes and food..

Start taping my feet, this takes about 10 minutes, even though blisters are good I tape my feet as a preventative measure. This is expensive as I am now using only moleskin bandages.

Either leave or be driven by Kelly to commence walk.

Walk for 6 – 7 ½ hours – depending on the terrain. I try to start walking at the latest 6.45 am but often it is later than this due to the distance we need to drive to pickup walk route. We try to leave the RV parked for 4 – 6 days as there is a process in packing up etc.

After I complete the walk, Kelly collects me and it’s back to the RV. Depending on what time more social media, preparation for next days walk, getting dinner ready. If there is a pool try and have a swim to relax me and my body.

Have a shower and soak feet for up to 30 / 40 minutes in Epsom salts.

Catch up on admin and emails.

Review the next day’s walk route with Kelly, workout when we are moving the RV.

Go to bed usually around 8-8.30 pm.

When we are walking we leave very simple lives we don’t have TV and we usually listen to music.

There are days where we have to shop and always meal preparation is important.

Kelly cooks and I clean up except for breakfast I always get this ready!
