7 million steps – Blog 15 – Destined

It was about 18 months ago I was given the command “to walk across America!”

I thought it would be easy to bring a team together and launch a successful walk!

The journey leading to the 22nd September launch was hard, frustrating, inspiring and rewarding. Everyone in the small team has had to dig deeper than thought possible.

About 14 months ago I visited a Physic – immediately after I sat down she said “I see an ocean, then I see a desert, you are walking? You need strong shoes? You need vitamins? You will be given things some you want / need some you won’t use. I see money being given to you, whatever you are doing will be extremely successful.”

I briefly told her what was planned. She laughed and said now it all makes sense as I knew you weren’t in Australia.

She also told me I would not see the Walk come together until the very last minute and at times you won’t think it will happen!

How true was she – up until the last 3 weeks we didn’t have an RV, it was only my friends Shirley and Bill deciding to purchase one and then donating it to the Warrior Momz Walk for 6 ½ months that we finally had our RV and it was perfect. Yet we had no one to drive it, no matter what we did we never got any replies for volunteers. In desperation I tried another angle asking for anyone who wanted an adventure to contact me. And then I heard from Kelly, yes she wanted an adventure, she hated her job, she would resign and join me! This all happened within 7-14 days of the Walk commencing.

Kelly is the perfect person to travel with she is smart, resourceful and loves a challenge.. And challenges we have a plenty!
